Sunflower oil hydrogenation mechanisms and kinetics

چکیده

A kinetic model for sunflower oil hydrogenation on a palladium catalyst is proposed based Horiuty–Polanyi type mechanism and considering either dissociative or associative adsorption of hydrogen. The derived laws allow to explain the distinct dependency saturation isomerization reactions hydrogen pressure. Kinetic parameters are identified batch slurry hydrogenations carried out at 60–160°C 2–31 bar with powdered Pd/Al2O3 catalyst. statistical analysis used select most suitable H2. Evaluation Weisz–Prater modulus reveals that limitations intraparticle diffusion occur despite particle diameter does not exceed 40 μm.
